Wednesday, August 25, 2010
3:00 pm to 8:30 pm

The utmost Canadian traditional place to go where, during springtime, sap flowing from holes made in maple trees is gathered and boiled to produce maple syrup. Sugar maples are the trees that turn red-orange at the end of September, and which leaf is represented on the Canadian flag. We will go to the Cabane Handfield, located some 40 km outside Montréal. A meal with varied dishes cooked in or complemented with maple syrup will be served, while there will be animation by traditional musicians. (Partially outdoor activity, please wear appropriate clothing and comfortable shoes.)
If weather permits, we will first stop on top of Mount Royal, the hill dominating the city. This is where the conference picture will be taken.
